Since Ida Auken was elected in 2007, climate and environment has become her prime interests.

She was SF's environmental spokesperson and chairman of the Environment Committee and threw himself into more than nature and the environment. She helped make the party Nature Plan and highlighted the problems of particle pollution in Copenhagen. Another area in which has Aukens interest, is the urban environment and urban nature.

Ida Auken is the daughter of SF-profile Margrete Auken and the niece of former Environment Minister Svend Auken.
